Neuschwanstein is just one of the castles you'll see on our Ultimate Rhine cruise

Dear  Traveler

I am hopeful that these small notes I've been sending are building your anticipation about receiving our 2016 Experience the World travel catalogue.  I have already written about the incredible value of our Caribbean & Mediterranean Cruise and Italy Tour, and our brand new Alaskan Discovery Tour. Today I'm writing about one of two brand new European River Cruise itineraries: the Ultimate Rhine & German Treasures cruise and tour

For 14 days, you will be treated to an amazing range of German history. Some days you will be walking through a walled Medieval town like Rothenburg o.d. Tauber; on others you will find exquisite Renaissance architecture in a 2,000 year old Roman town like Augsburg. And then there are the castles. So many castles that when I asked Katja Jahn, the product manager who created this wondrous tour how many a guest would see on this trip, she shrugged her shoulders and said "I can't count that high!"

I happen to know that Katja is quite good at math and that she can count much higher than that in both German and English (and possibly a few more languages), but I understand her point. From the beginnings of the tour through Germany, Switzerland and France to the cruise up the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam, it seems like there are castles and historic architecture everywhere you look.

The ship for this cruise is the A-Rosa Aquaa 99-cabin ship that is more like a floating boutique hotel than a cruise ship. This ship is amazing in it's casual luxury. You'll love the flexibility of the A-Rosa dining program: eat when and what you want, and with whomever you would like to have as a dining companion. And you will enjoy that this ship has a large spa and wellness area, fitness center, sauna and open air Jacuzzi that is on the bow of the ship! Imagine sipping a fine Gewurtztraminer with your traveling companion while soaking in the Jacuzzi and taking in the sights - that sounds perfect to me!

The price for this 14-day tour begins at $2,699* for a double porthole cabin and you can upgrade to either a French Balcony Middle, or Upper if that is your preference for an additional fee. Our Early Booking Discount applies to this trip so you can take $200 off if you book prior to Sept. 30.

There are just two departures of this trip in the summer of 2016: one on Monday, June 13 and the second on Thursday, June 23. You can view the itinerary for the June 23 departure by clicking the button below. The June 13 departure is the same itinerary, but in reverse order. The weather in Germany in June is positively blissful, and with the long days of mid summer there will be plenty of daylight for your activities.

If you like river cruising, or if you have always wanted to give river cruising a try, why not start with the Ultimate?
